Question

Can my roommate give my dogs away without my permission?

Answer

It is not generally lawful for a person (a roommate or other person) to give away an animal without the consent of the animal’s “parent.” People who live with a person who they suspect may harm or rehome their animal without consent should take extra precautions to safeguard the animal. Moving may be a good idea!
